About Us

The Musicwoman Archive will house a library of women’s music, compositions, scores, arrangements, films, videos, books, magazines, articles, artifacts, and other memorabilia. This state-of-the-art complex will include a 300-seat theater, a recording studio, rehearsal rooms, and a hotel featuring gourmet cuisine prepared by world-class chefs and their apprentices. The project will employ hundreds of people dedicated to the preservation of women’s music.

The Musicwoman Archive was conceived by Dr. Joan Cartwright, a 40-year veteran of the jazz/blues stage. She is the Editor-in-Chief of Musicwoman Magazine, Musicman Magazine, and soon to come MusicTeen Magazine. Dr. Cartwright founded Women in Jazz South Florida, Inc. in 2007.
